in search for the sense of belonging
In the Arch and Crafts academic studio, this project, situated in Kerem HaTeimanim, Tel Aviv, seeks to explore and cultivate a sense of belonging within a public space. Drawing inspiration from Kengo Kuma's "Anti-Object" and Juhani Pallasmaa's philosophical reflections on architecture, the design emphasizes the relationship between people, place, and the sensory experience. The project aims to create a space that resonates with the local community, subtly blending into its surroundings while fostering a deep connection with its users. By carefully considering the textures, materials, and spatial dynamics, the design aspires to evoke a feeling of comfort and rootedness, making the public space a true extension of the community's identity.
